Line and Space


Strait lines - lines that do not curve in the line:
Curved lines - lines that are not straight at any part

Vertical lines - lines that go up and down

Horizontal lines - lines that go from left to right across

Diagonal lines - lines that stretch from one "corner" to the opposite "corner"

Actual lines - lines that are physically present in a work

Implied lines - lines suggested through shapes and forms

Sight line - unobstructed line of vision

Space - An emphasis of the area directly surrounding the subject

Kinetic Form - Form that shows the energy of motion

Proximity - how close two subjects are to each other

Closure - when the end returns to the beginning for a more finished product
